Godaddy to Namecheap- 5reasons to make the move

namecheap vs godaddyPeople often ask about which one should they choose? Namecheap or Godaddy?

I decided to write an in-depth comparison of two of the most popular domain registrars trusted by millions of customers around the globe: Namecheap vs Godaddy as I’m a customer of both..

I have been running my blog on Godaddy™ for a while now on their Deluxe Managed WordPress Package which was not economic-wise for me at all- as a student. This plan took $9.88 from me monthly and I was always looking for an alternative.

I tried to talk to their Wonderful support team(they are really nice indeed) to consider giving me a discount or Creating a plan for young bloggers, but the discount they offered me was not significant at all.

I almost quit blogging until a friend  referred me to Namecheap™ and I spoke to their customer service if a Migration was possible and how much it would cost, so I could start saving.

Rewinding back a bit, there are 5 reasons I decided to ditch godaddy™ for namecheap™, even though my domain name remains there. NameCheap and GoDaddy are well-known domain registrars trusted by clients worldwide. As both of them offer web hosting services at the same time, there comes the serious puzzlement that which company is better in this aspect.

NameCheap is a privately-owned independent hosting company. That’s a rarity in a world where a handful of corporations own nearly all hosting brands. Being private & independent is not necessarily a good thing, and being owned by a large corporation is not necessarily a bad thing.

However, where NameCheap excels as an independent company is defining their brand values and going for transparency in a notoriously confusing industry.

The reasons are:

  • The pocket-friendly hosting package
  • The 24hr live chat support system
  • Better Interface
  • Free Migration

The pocket-friendly hosting:

Hosting at namecheap is cheap- Its; so what d’you expect? Namecheap hosting is better with our unique approach to hosting infrastructure. They deliver amazing server speeds, unparalleled website performance and deliver 100% uptime, backed by a guarantee. Every component is fully redundant from power supply to network card to the high-speed SAN delivering unparalleled uptime, performance and reliability. The result? 100% uptime, every month. Deploy WordPress or the app of your choice in just seconds with our Softaculous application installer. Softaculous also makes updating and maintaining open source applications a breeze.

NameCheap has four pricing plans. Value renews at $38.88/yr; Professional renews at $78.88/yr; Ultimate renews at $129.88/yr; and Business Pro renews at 17.98/mo. All the plans come with absurdly low intro pricing – as low as $9.88/yr for the Value plan. The catch is that all the plans are capped on two of the three “D’s” – in addition to other caps. If you plan on staying under those caps – NameCheap is almost always cheaper than the plan you would choose at another hosting company- trust me!

I really enjoyed my experience with Namecheap’s support service as I got answers to my questions with ease. They helped migrate my site’s contents from Godaddy to my new host in less than 45 minutes- and I was so glad! Full import of my bulky wensite (the former hosting didn’t have a Cpanel).
It’s so easy to navigate on Namecheap, as their checkout page is very easy-to-understand. One thing I didnt like about Godaddy is that in their Checkout Page, they automatically added a=items into my cart, and any one in a haste would mistakenly activate not-needed stuffs.
Why not make the move today? What do you think?
