Google, the most popular search engine online has intensified its fight against pornography. Google’s fight against porn has been obvious from various points:

  • Websites with Google Adsense get banned once they start showing pornographic contents
  • Pornographic websites, although they have a large number of views, get banned sometimes in YouTube and their videos deleted
  • Porn apps get deleted from playstoreGoogle's fight against pornography

There is no obvious backing down in Google’s fight against pornography. Apart from Google, I also disagree with it because it is scripturally wrong. Logically also, it does more harm than good as it gives you bad vibes and leaves you susceptible to sexual immorality.Google's fight against pornography

A Security Firm called Checkpoint recently confirmed that Google has deleted 60 games from the Play Store that were infected with a malicious bug, which among other things injected pornographic ads into games to be used by children. According to Google Play’s public data, the infected games had been downloaded between 3 million and 7 million times.Google's fight against pornography

The malware, which Check Point named as “AdultSwine,” attacked users in three ways, with the pornographic ads only being one. In addition, the malware tried to get users to install fake security apps, themselves often ridden with malware, or register for a premium service using their phone number.

I really think that if Google really wars against porn, it should remove such contents from search results and stop showing results for such

How the virus works

This reminds me of ransomware

Check Point has a full list of the affected apps in its post on the issue. The most popular include

  • FiveNights Survival Craft
  • McqueenCar Racing Game
  • Addon Pixelmon for MCPE
  • CoolCraftPE,
  • ExplorationPro WorldCraft.

CheckPoint didn’t explain how the malicious code found its way inside otherwise-innocuous apps, but it did demonstrate how the attack worked once the game was downloaded. After a download, the app only had to wait for a reboot, or for the user to unlock their screen lock, to start sending information back to a command and control server, which would then serve the ads.

In a statement to the Financial Times, a Google spokesperson said “We’ve removed the apps from Play, disabled the developers’ accounts, and will continue to show strong warnings to anyone that has installed them. We appreciate Check Point’s work to help keep users safe.” Google’s fight against pornography should not back down because a lot of folks are online. Let’s not offend God and cause ourselves trouble.

Konga black friday 2017

As we know, the Konga Black Friday 2017 started yesterday and I was expecting a fair deal this year. Although, I saw a sarcastic post on social media some days back which proved to be true:Konga black Friday scam

Last year, I joined a lot of Nigerians to complain about Jumia Black Friday as they used the same method above. I was expecting Konga to have a lot in store for us, but unfortunately

The sales in this yakata deal black friday from konga have insignificant discounts.

Lets take a look at some of the things I have been seeing from yesterday while perusing the site, despite the fact that the Black Friday from Konga.com has startedKonga black Friday 2017

Has It Always Been Like This?

About two years ago, the popular female tech blogger Tobi Ayeni, or popularly known by her blog’s name Misstechy.com posted something similar in 2015’s black Friday in Nigeria. This were some of her observations:

A screenshot of the Infinix Hot 2 that goes for N17,900 and still sells for N17,900.(in 2015)

Also, there are reports that heavily discounted items get sold out immediately. These customers have even gone to their Facebook pages to complain.

Back to me at Tomjoetech.net, I actually found some products to have discounts on them. The electronics were really discounted. I even saw a DVD player of 7k!Now you're talking

Lets have a look at many of these deals. I will give direct links to them at the end of the page

So if you were disappointed, you had your hopes too high.

But guess what, I would give the links to the discounted products, category-by-category.

WhatsApp Messenger  went offline, due to a major outage, stopping millions of people from using it around the world. I guess its a server issue, cos my tests showed that the app couldn’t connect to the servers during the period- It had a down time.Whatsapp server down WhatsApp has steadily added a number of new features over the last year, including support for GIFs and FaceTime-style video calls. My Dad received a notification of an upgrade on his ipad last week and he was excited at the features the ios 11 promised to have. But he had to ask me if it was a wise decision to upgrade and I decided to look into the Ios 11 deeply. Here’s what is funny: Within about a minute of Apple’s iOS 11 release, it was already installed on more devices than Android Oreo. But that’s neither here nor there. iOS 11 is packed full of new features, refinements of existing features, bug fixes, and plenty more for iPhone and iPad users to enjoy. It’s not all good news, and before the end of the post, you’ll see why.

Wonderful Features In Ios11

When I went through various articles that explained the ios 11 upgrade features, I was so excited! Android might be better then Ios, fhough. Although,

  • Some features will be available on September 19, 2017, with iOS 11.

Amount of storage saved depends on specific photo content used; actual results may vary.

  1. Requires an Apple Music membership.
  2. AirPlay is compatible with the second-generation Apple TV or later. AirPlay Mirroring is available with iPhone 4s or later, iPad Pro, iPad (2nd generation or later), iPad Air or later, iPad mini or later, and iPod touch (5th generation or later). AirPlay 2 may require a software update to existing speakers or new hardware depending on speaker manufacturer.
  • Some features, applications, and services may not be available in all regions or all languages.

Ios 11 bugs and fixes

Here are most of the features of ios 11 that you would also find wonderful!

1. Design:

Text is bolder, apps like Calculator and Phone have a new look, and the Lock screen and Control Center have been entirely redesigned.  Your apps now have big headers that make them easier to get a better sense of what you’re looking at, so they work better on larger screens. Like any design change, the differences in iOS 11 are polarizing, but I generally like it better than before. Apple made a huge shift way back in iOS 7, but with iOS 11 it feels like everything’s been a little bit softened. iOS 11 lets you customize the redesigned Control Center so you can change the settings for the things you do most. Ios 11 design

2. QuickType keyboard.

Holding a coffee in one hand and your iPhone in the other? Simply touch and hold the emoji or globe key, select one-handed typing, and the keys will instantly move closer to your thumb. This makes you to type with one hand tied behind your back, Looking like the Google Keyboard feature in Android, as seen in the video below. Also, Letters, numbers, symbols, and punctuation marks are now all on the same keyboard.

Here’s how it is on the ios 11:Ios 11 one hand mode

3. Hotknot For Ios?

I know, yeah. Hotknot was a feature released for some android phones sometimes ago, but for unknown reasons, the feature was discontinued. Now, it has come to the ios11 right in front of us! What is this feature all about? Here is it:

Just hold your new iPhone or iPad near an iOS device to sign in with your Apple ID automatically. Many of your personal settings, preferences, and content will be quickly and securely imported.

What a wawu!

3. Homekit and do-not-disturb

HomeKit now supports speakers and there’s a new AirPlay 2 protocol that includes multi-room functionality. Do Not Disturb has been expanded to encompass driving, muting notifications while a vehicle is in motion, and Messages has been improved with a new App Drawer that makes it easier to access Messages apps and stickers. Now ,your ipad or iPhone on Ios 11 can now sense when you might be driving and help keep you from being distracted by calls, text messages, and notifications.

4. App store Revamping

The App Store has been completely refurbished in the iOS 11 upgrade, and there are now two distinct sections for apps and games. There’s also a new “Today” view that features new content on a daily basis to make it easier for you to discover new applications and games. Apps can do a whole lot more, thanks to several new APIs Apple is introducing! It’s the biggest thing to come to the App Store since apps. Users are notified when their favorite apps gain new features.

5. Drag And Drop

Drag and Drop comes to iPad, allowing you to move text, photos, and files from one app to another. And because it’s been specially made for the large Multi-Touch display of iPad, moving them around is pure magic. You can touch and move just about anything on the screen of your ios 11 enabled device! A tap and a hold with a finger initiates a drag action, while another finger can be used to bring up the Dock or access the Home screen to open up another app where the item being dragged can be dropped.

6. Settings:

In the Settings app, there’s a section for choosing which features you want to be able to access in the Control Center, and there are quite a few options available. Low Power Mode can be added to the Control Center, for example, and there’s even an option to add an Apple TV remote.

  • Flashlight
  • Timer
  • Calculator
  • Camera
  • Accessibility Shortcut
  • Alarm
  • Apple TV Remote
  • Do Not Disturb While Driving
  • Guided Access
  • Home
  • Low Power Mode
  • Magnifier
  • Notes
  • Screen Recording
  • Stopwatch
  • Text Size
  • Voice Memos
  • Wallet

You can add all of the options to Control Center if you want, or just what’s most relevant to your usage habits.

7. Files App

There is no iCloud Drive app in iOS 11, because it’s been expanded into a more comprehensive “Files” app that’s designed to mimic the Finder app on the Mac.

Like Finder for Mac, it’s searchable, has a section for viewing all recently accessed files, and it supports tags, spring-loading, nested folders, and favorites. Adding a tag to a file for organizational purposes is as simple as dragging the file to the tag color of your choice.

Ios 11 Files App

8. Siri is Better

Siri isn’t perfect, but it is much more capable than many give it credit for. Which is another way of saying: give it another shot, you might be surprised.

This big update you’ll notice right away is that Apple has tuned Siri so that its voice sounds much more natural and less computer-like. You might want to give siri another try!

Ios 11 Problems (Bugs)

Each and every software update on any platform causes issues for some people, and right now 59 be honest, the Ios 11 is not an exception- And the problems are not cool.

First things first: when you first install any iOS update on your iPhone, iOS 11 included, your phone may slow down and you may experience faster battery drain at first- but why?

Should in case you are experiencing battery drain, you may want to head on to (Settings > General > Background App Refresh) and limiting the number of apps that can access your location in the background (Settings > Privacy > Location Services). If that doesn’t have much of an impact, Low Power Mode may become your best friend until Apple pushes out new updates in the coming months that will hopefully address excessive battery drain.

Note: If you haven’t started the iOS 11 update and are going to try, the first thing you should do is create a backup of your iPhone. Things can go wrong during major software updates, and having a recent backup available can save you from a massive headache if anything bad happens.

1. Can’t connect to a Wi-Fi network

One user has reported that their iPhone no longer allows them to join their personal Wi-Fi network, and they probably won’t be alone in this. Some preliminary steps to try resolving this issue would be to reset your phone, reset the Wi-Fi router (even if other devices are clearly connected to the internet through it) or forget the Wi-Fi network on your device and rejoin. You can also attempt to reset the network settings of your device by going to Settings > General > Reset > Reset Network Settings – don’t worry, this fix shouldn’t erase anything on your phone. However, the user who posted this issue tried many of these fixes to no success, so it may be a case of reverting back to iOS 10 and waiting for a fix to come from Apple.

2. Some apps are gone or not working properly

If you’ve been dragging along some old apps from phone to phone for a while now without updating them (either because you don’t update them or because the creator won’t update them) they may not work well with iOS 11. If they’re old enough, or still 32-Bit, they won’t be compatible with iOS 11.

3. Your Phone’s is suddenly filling up its storage

One user has reported that the update to iOS 11 began to slowly increase the system storage on their device until the device was almost full. This error doesn’t appear to be linked to specific apps, but rather just the storage that the system itself takes up. If any apps that you hardly use are draining it like crazy, you might want to disable them until they get more iOS 11-friendly updates.

This is an issue that has cropped up even in the Beta for iOS 11, Unfortunately, there’s no clear resolution for this issue at present, and you may want to revert to your backup and wait for iOS 11.1 if you experience this issue.

4. The Home button is slow to wake up the device

Multiple Apple users have posted that, after updating their old iPhones to iOS 11, their lock screen freezes for around 10 seconds, appearing to stall out or slowly load up before letting them use their device. Nothing could be more tedious than waiting around for 10 seconds just to check a notifications now and then. You may revert to ios 7 if it gets creepy- it is worth it!

The official website of Kashmir Media Service, www.kmsnews.org, has been hacked by Indian hackers. The officials immediately took down their website after the attack- to hide the attack but alas- it was discovered. Though, It is not yet confirmed which Indian hacker group defaced the Kashmir Media Service website. Till now, no official statement has been issued by the news agency in this regard. After taking over the website, the Indian hackers posted offensive articles against the freedom fighters of Kashmir, Pakistan and China.

And not long ago; Earlier this month to be specific , Indian hackers hacked the official website of Pakistani Government, crippling and stopping the authorities to work online. Furthermore, on 14 August Indian hackers hacked different governments website, including the website of Pakistan’s federal Cabinet. After defacing the cabinet’s website hackers posted “Happy Independence Day-August 15” on it.

They also added a photo of Indian army hoisting an Indian flag on the Siachen glacier.

In April, the Pakistan Peoples Party’s official website was hacked by Indians .“Team IBH is back again on Pakistan government servers. You should have expected us,” a message on the website read. The party however, recovered the website shortly after the attack. [purchase_link id=”4832″ style=”button” color=”dark-gray” text=”Buy Adsense Tricks Pdf” direct=”true”]

The cyber attack is not new between the duo, both countries have been waging cyber war on each other’s official government websites for quite some time now. Pakistani hackers hacked ten websites of Indian educational institutions including Delhi University (DU), Aligarh Muslim University, IIT-Delhi, IIT-BHU and posted Pakistan Zindabad on them. India and Pakistan are not only exchanging bullets on borders but also attacking each other on online platforms and it seems that there is no end to this hacking power show till sanity unites the two governments once again.

How would you feel if Unilag’s website and a federal agency’s website in Nigeria is hacked?
